A few months ago we expressed amazement that safety footwear (including some products at top end price points and others at budget offers in national media) are being sold without having anti-penetration midsoles fitted.

To us this is bonkers yet user exposure to these products seems to roll on. This specification is not permitted on construction sites the length and breadth of the land and whilst the same regs don’t apply in agri-related environments, that particular sector has the worst per capita workplace personal injury and fatality record of all industries.

A recent comment made by one of our dealers in the builders merchants sector that there is a fog about safety boots specifications at the point of user purchase has prompted us to introduce a new external symbol to highlight that anti-penetration midsoles are fitted to our boots.
