Packaging Compliance

EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) – Regulation (EU) 2025/40

This page provides regulatory, environmental and compliance information relating to packaging used for Buckbootz boot boxes, outer storage cartons and packaging accessories.

The following is further provided as part of our commitment to transparency and to support compliance with applicable packaging information requirements under Regulation (EU) 2025/40.

Our packaging is specified and controlled with consideration of the applicable requirements of Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste (PPWR), together with other applicable European Union chemicals legislation.

Packaging Covered

This information relates to the following packaging components, where applicable:

  • Individual paper/cardboard footwear boxes
  • Corrugated cardboard outer and transport cartons
  • Associated paper and cardboard packaging components

Packaging Materials

Our footwear boxes and outer cartons are predominantly manufactured from paper and cardboard-based materials.

Packaging material composition, specifications and supporting supplier information are maintained within our packaging technical documentation.

Where a packaging material identification code such as PAP 20 is displayed, this identifies the relevant paper/cardboard packaging material and is intended to support appropriate sorting and recycling.

Please dispose of packaging responsibly and in accordance with applicable local waste collection and recycling requirements.

Heavy Metals

In accordance with Article 5 of Regulation (EU) 2025/40, the sum of the concentration levels of:

  • Lead (Pb)
  • Cadmium (Cd)
  • Mercury (Hg)
  • Hexavalent Chromium (Cr VI)

present in packaging or packaging components shall not exceed 100 mg/kg by weight, subject to any applicable exemptions or derogations provided for by the Regulation.

Compliance information and supporting supplier documentation are retained within our packaging technical documentation and compliance records.

REACH and Substances of Very High Concern

Packaging and packaging components are subject to applicable requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), including applicable restrictions under Annex XVII and relevant requirements concerning substances included on the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC).

Relevant supplier declarations, material specifications and, where applicable test documentation are maintained as part of our packaging compliance records.

Substances of Concern

Our packaging specifications and supply-chain controls take account of applicable requirements concerning substances of concern in packaging and packaging components.

Supporting information concerning material composition and restricted substances is maintained within our packaging technical documentation.

PFAS

Our footwear packaging is not intended for food-contact applications.

Certain PFAS concentration restrictions under Regulation (EU) 2025/40 are applicable to food-contact packaging. Our footwear packaging is not intended for food-contact applications.

Where appropriate, information concerning PFAS and other substances of concern is obtained from our packaging supply chain and maintained within our packaging technical documentation.
